Face-to-Face Meeting 2004 provided the opportunity for students from different schools, collaborating on the same project, to meet up with one another "in the flesh". This session familiarizes the students with each other. Held at the start of the one week term break, it was a good time for the students to discuss their various tasks and responsibilities during the vacation. In addition, students could also make plans for the coming Oral presentation on the 29th May. Good luck students!!

The photos from the Face-to-Face Meeting are available here.

The slides from the Face-to-Face Meeting are available here.

7 January 2004 - 16 January 2004

With the combined effort of NIE researchers, school teachers and TAs from the participating schools, an one-hour training session was organised to train the students in these schools in order to equip them with the basic skills of online collaboration using the Knowledge Community platform. Examples of the skills taughts are like "How to log on to KC", "How to read and post notes" and "How to collaborate in project groups".

The slides from the training session are available here.

22 November 2003

The NIE team conducted a 3 1/2 hours training workshop for the participating teachers in Coral Secondary School. The workshop comprised two parts: the first part focused on some knowledge and skills which we think are helpful to the teachers in facilitating the students' online learning process. The second part of the workshop was dedicated to modifying the project write-ups crafted by teachers to be more suitable for the students, who will work on their projects based on the Students' Project Write-ups prepared by the teachers.

The slides for the workshop are available here.

June - End of October 2003

The teacher participants crafted their project tasks online using the Knowledge Community environment from June to end of October 2003. These were the project tasks which the teachers have crafted:

The third workshop on 14th June was conducted successfully. We were impressed by the enthusiasm displayed by all during the workshop. Photos were taken, and can be viewed here. Also, the slides from the presentation can be downloaded here.

2 training sessions for participating teachers were conducted on 10th and 17th May with very positive response. The sessions presented new perspectives on student-centred learning and PW, as well as familiarizing the teachers with the Knowledge Community e-learning system. A third session will be conducted on 14th June.

The slides for the training presentation are available here.
