The Practicum Office takes charge of administering the school attachments undertaken by the NIE student teachers enrolled in the initial teacher preparation programmes. It is responsible for disseminating general administrative and procedural information, announcements, school posting data and other Practicum-related information to school personnel, student teachers and NIE staff. 1.     All BA/BSc (Ed) July 09 Intake student teachers should register for SE only in the July 2010’s course registration exercise.

2.     All BA/BSc (Ed) July 09 Intake student teachers will be posted back to the same school (either Primary or Secondary depending on your teaching track) for Teaching Assistantship (TA) taking place in the July 2011 semester. Example: If a BA(Ed)-Primary student teacher is posted to Fuhua Primary School and Westwood Secondary School for the School Experience, s/he will be posted back to Fuhua Primary School for the Teaching Assistantship.

3.     All BA/BSc (Ed) July 09 Intake student teachers will get an automatic change of posting come Teaching Practice I (TPI) and will remain in the same school for the subsequent Teaching Practice II (TPII). This is an arrangement to ensure student teachers have some exposure to different school environments in the 4-year programme.

2.     All BA/BSc (Ed) July 08 Intake student teachers should register for TA only in the July 2010’s course registration exercise. 

3.     All BA/BSc (Ed) July 08 Intake student teachers will get an automatic change of posting come Teaching Practice I (TPI) and will remain in the same school for the subsequent Teaching Practice II (TPII). ATTN: Important notice for all student teachers going for practicums in Term 3

See MOE's Press Release on Precautionary Measures to Cope With Influenza A (H1N1) When School Reopens. If you are returning from an affected country on or after 22 June 2009, you are required to stay at home for 7 days before going for practicum. Apply for a leave of absence for those days that fall within your practicum period and notify our office, your practicum school and your NSC promptly. Our office will advise you on what needs to be done if a make-up for the LOA period is required.
