Checklist for microLESSONSä

Please use the following checklist to ensure that your projects satisfy the minimum submission standards.

Download the form here (right click and save) and print it out. Fill it in and submit it together with your project.

 

General

Have you
previewed existing projects? (Available at ECL 7 or view the catalogue of titles.)

checked that the topic you have chosen is relevant to the current syllabus?

scanned all your files for viruses before submission?

included all the supporting files (e.g. AVI, WAV, DOC, XLS, EXE, HTML, CLASS files)?

included all the original files (e.g. images, sounds) in a separate subfolder (see below)?

excluded any redundant files (e.g. earlier versions of your work, temporary files, etc.)

 

Fonts

Are the fonts used standard fonts (i.e. Times New Roman, Arial, Courier)?

If non-standard fonts were used, are they TrueType fonts so that they may be embedded in the PPT file?

Alternatively, have you made images of the non-standard, non-TrueType fonts you intend to use? (see online tutorial)

Are the TrueType fonts included copyright- and expiry-free?

Have you ensured that the filenames and extensions of your Powerpoint project and the supporting files are all lowercase font?

Ensure that the filenames and extensions of your Powerpoint project and the supporting files contain only the standard 26 alphabets, 10 numbers or the hyphen "-". Avoid using underscore"_".
Example: s-english-introduction-to-grammar-01.ppt. Any blank spaces, brackets, apostrophes, quotation marks or any other symbols are not acceptable.

 

Copyright

Have you ensured that
you have not included any copyrighted material (text, images, music/sounds, backgrounds, applets, etc)?

you have checked the terms of use of the material if it was sourced from the Web?

if copyrighted material was included, you have got the original author's written permission (right click and save) to use it?

if copyrighted material was included, you have included this permission in an acknowledgement page or in a link to a separate document?

you have identified the source(s) of your images, sounds, video clips (and any other material)
e.g. State the URL where the original image was taken from or leave the watermark/copyright information on the image intact.

e.g. in an acknowledgement page, you have specified the CD-ROM where royalty free/copyright free images were taken from. Sample: "All images were taken from TaskForce Clip Art: Greatest Hits (1995 edition) by New Vision Technologies Inc."

Important note: all projects submitted to NIE become the property of NIE. The copyright of all projects and their supporting material belong to NIE.
