Biographical Sketch

 

Dr Timothy Teo, Ph.D., is a faculty researcher at the Learning Sciences Lab and an Assistant Professor in the Learning Sciences and Technology Academic Group at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Formerly, he has taught at the primary schools, secondary schools and the polytechnic. Dr Timothy has also served some years at the Curriculum Planning and Development Division, with the last posting as a Senior Curriculum Specialist. His research has focused on the areas of ICT in education, epistemological beliefs, and music education. Most recently, his work has explored issues related to the beliefs about knowledge, teaching and learning among in-service and pre-service teachers. With a special interest in quantitative methodology, Dr Timothy is interested in applying statistical modeling techniques to examine issues relating to ICT in education, teacher’s beliefs, and music education. In recent years, he has been awarded visiting fellowhips by the British Academy and Bristol University. Currently, he is involved in research projects funded by the Learning Sciences Lab.
