Biographical Sketch

Dr Liam Rourke is an Assistant Professor in the Learning Sciences Lab. His interest is educational technique, a term borrowed from the art world where it signifies a synthesis of tools, processes, and structures, as well as the manner in which those are used and put together. Liam’s research is in the tradition of phronesis, the third of Aristotle’s categories of human inquiry (along with episteme and techne). This type of research is pragmatic, contextual, and poses question about values and what should be done with technology. Currently, he is collaborating with primary and secondary school practitioners on a Philosophy for Schools project.
