Biographical Sketch
 

 
 

Dr Chew Lee Chin is faculty researcher at the Learning Sciences Lab and assistant professor in the Psychological Studies Academic Group at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University where she teaches pre-service and master level courses in the teacher education programmes.  Her teaching and research interests are focused on the areas of educational testing, item response theory and its application, IT use for testing, and programme evaluation. Previous to joining the National Institute of Education, she was for many years a school teacher and administrator. As a teacher educator, she has been involved with several local and overseas educational research projects since 1992 and is currently principal investigator of an on-going MOE-funded research and also a research project funded by the Learning Sciences Lab. In recent years, she has actively promoted action research by classroom teachers as a consultant with several schools. She has also been Honorary Secretary and Vice-President of the Educational Research Association of Singapore.

Principal investigator of a 2-year MOE funded project on “The Diagnosis and Development of Pupils’ English Language Competence in Primary Schools through Computer-Assisted Assessment”. (EP4/05 CLC). This on-going project focuses on the use of computer technology for assisting EL assessment.
